Logo Project
We each designed logos that had a connection to us in some way. Some people chose to graph their initials while some made their logo a symbol from their life. After we had the initial design we had to sketch our logo on a graph and write an equation that would fit for each line. This project taught us how to use lines and equations to create images on graphs. Some equations even had curved lines and semicircles. The purpose of this project was to express ourselves through math.
At first something that was challenging for me in this project was trying to figure out a symbol that represented me. I has no idea what I wanted to do. To figure it out I started thinking about things that were important to me and something that I realized was really important was my family. So I chose “M” for my logo. Also I am really proud of the math equations because I also didn’t really understand them at first. And if I were to do something different today it would be to change the colors. I don’t really like the combination I used.

Skittles Lab
The Skittles Lab served as an introduction to exponential growth and decay, more specifically decay. The experiment asked to use many of two sided, small objects that could be stored in a cup. Pouring the objects and eliminating ones with the wrong side up, and repeating the process showed that the amount decayed exponentially.
Reflection: Something that was challenging for me was that I got really confused on how to do this project. I did it completely wrong; I didn’t really understand the math at first and did the wrong equation but I ended up asking a friend for help and I had to restart it.I am proud that I finished it AND understood it at the end.
